12 day old Charlie bear from Barton under Needwood was little charmer slept like a pro, he's certainly welcome back anytime for snuggles. Charlie’s was one of those galleries that you do a little dance to when it’s finished, he had beautiful skin and was such a lovely baby! This boy loved being snuggled up so we ensured that there are lots of wrapped shots, but I think some of my favourites have to be the black and white images.
When I started this little business of mine a few years ago I really didn’t know what to expect. I knew I loved newborn photography and I knew that feeling passionate about something has to show through your business. What I didn’t expect is how I would feel about the families that bring their newborn babies to me. It’s funny how much you can get to know people in just a few hours but I think there is something magical that happens when you have a baby and clients feel that they can open their heart to you.
Having a baby is probably the most exhilarating, exhausting emotional rollercoaster you go on and in those first few weeks I get to be a part of that special time and it’s amazing. I’m part photographer/part counsellor/part friend to my lovely families and I like to think my sessions are a little safe haven for them.
It’s a chance in those first few weeks to get out of the house and away from all the visitors. Some parents come and just relax, spending time with each other, some come and want a good old natter, others simply rest and have a nap :-) I don’t mind what we do in those few hours as long as they enjoy themselves and feel at ease.
So thank you families for letting me in for a little while…
