This year I decided to take an outdoor child photography masterclass with Sujeta Setia of "But Natural Photography". I have been shooting a lot of outdoor over the last 12 months and wanted to hone in on my skillset with a mentor I have admired for a while now, with Summer and Autumn outdoor sessions in the pipeline for this year I can't wait to put my new found knowledge into action.
We had an early 8.15am start and although warm the weather was a little unpredictable with a few showers throughout the morning. We had 3 young brothers Michael, Freddie and Jacob to start the morning session, and 2 sisters Sorayah and Ebony came to rock the camera at lunchtime. The children were amazing little models, clearly little experts in taking direction and posing and oodles of patience which made it easy for each delegate to get the shots each of us wanted.
The girls were styled by Sujata and the dresses were supplied by Mii-Estilo who supplies luxury maternity and children's wear for the photography industry. The boys were styled by their mother and my very good fellow photographer friend Claire of Bluebells & Butterflies Photography. You may have seen her on my blog over the years when she's helped out in the studio for me. All posing and location choices were created by Sujata, positioning and editing style were each of the workshop delegates own.
We spent the afternoon learning new editing tips and tricks from Sujata back at the conference centre, it was amazing to see her streamline her workflow and how she works behind the camera. Most of all it was fab catching up with my fellow peers in the industry, some of whom I've known for years.
