Two week old Hattie | Newborn Baby Photographer Linton

Summer feels as if it is finally around the corner! 2 week old Hattie came to the studio with her two big sisters for her first portraits. Little Hattie was simple adorable. She was super squishy and was such a good girl at her first ever photo-shoot! Here at Blue Bean Photography, the studio is kept nice and warm so the little babies don’t feel the cold when undressing them and changing them from prop to prop. It also helps them to stay nice and settled.

Newborn Photographers recommend photographing a newborn under 21 days old, it seems crazy when you’ve just given birth and are settling into life with a new baby. It can be a feat to leave the house at this stage so why on earth would you want to go to a photography studio and have your baby photographed at that age?

Well, after many years of photographing newborns I’ve come to recognise just how much they change week by week after they are born. We want to capture them when they are fresh, tiny and curly just like they were when first born. You want to remember their tiny toes, delicate eyelashes, their little back rolls, wispy soft hair and the way their curl naturally into a womb-like pose all on their own. By one month old they lose their womb-like curliness, are more awake, are spotty and often have bad colic. All of this does not make the easiest session!

When baby is under 3 weeks old they are very sleepy as long as they are warm and full. This helps us to get the gorgeous bucket poses, nude poses and adorable swaddled images.

Availability Update! It is so important to book your newborn session ahead of time so as not to miss out on the 21 day window that newborns are best photographed in! Newborn photographers book a limited amount of spots per month in order to be flexible for early/late arrivals. I do still have some June availability. To book your newborn session please email me at [email protected].
